I am on here to get another casio world time watch after having the one reviewed this page for a whole battery life. I would guess it lasted about 6 years. Pretty ok.
It kept good time, very gradually gaining a coulple of seconds, so no complaints there.
As with all of these watches, the "crystal" is very soft and scratches very easily. Mine has several deep gouges.
My complaint is that the background hands do not contrast enough with the face, making them difficult to read. If the time zone stuff is laid over the top, they mostly can't be seen. Having a digitized map of the world on the face may look cool, but it is not good for much and I could do without it. Just the city and digital time would be enough.
And, as everyone says, the watch functions are difficult to set and difficult to remember. Every year when going back and forth from daylight savings to standard, I just push the buttons until I finally make it happen.
I will be getting another Casio. For the money you can't beat it. I am often in airplanes where cell phones can't be used to tell time, so just the phone time doesn't work for me, though the phone clock is great in other time zones on the ground as it always displays the local time zone.
From the web site photos and specs, I thought this watch was a decent watch. Upon arrival, it's clearly a discount looking material and design. Online, the gray parts look metal, but in reality the watch is all plastic and the gray dial is a "painted coating." Entering data is tedious and time consuming, and display of that info is very poor. I use it for timing my swimming/running since it is light weight and has Indiglo. However, I don't wear it to work or formal as it's too cheap and plastic looking. Casio has much better looking watches than this one. For a few dollars more, I could have bought a much nicer watch with timer and backlighting, and a "REAL" METAL FACEPLATE/DIAL!
This is one of the best watches I have. The two best features of this watch are 1. world time 2. data bank (you can store upto 30 telephone numbers).
Also, the backlight is excellent and the dial is very clearly visible at night too.
I would recommend this watch and the seller as well. The item looks exactly like in the picture and was very nicely packed.
nice watch, this one will be my second, 1st one i been has a 10 yrs. in that time coast me $80.00
This is really worth it...
very nice one... simple and super...
User manual is not much detailed one...
Its a good watch. Would prefer if they had the calender instead f the world map. But other than that everything with the watch is great.
i just got this watch and i like it.
i wanted to get this like 4-5 ago but went for timex but finally back to the one i really wanted. the features are kool.
setting all the features was pretty easy after reading from the manual. the only drawback tha i see is its little thick, could have been thin then deserver 5 stars.
i like lot of stuff on the watches like gizmo stuff and this ones fits into my category :)
Firstly let me say what a wonderful watch this is. As others have mentioned you can just keep wearing it wherever, at work, at the gym and for a Muslim like me who has to wash his hands, arms etc 5 times a day before praying, I can still keep the watch on as its water resistant.
Its a perfectly smart watch, I normally just use the analogue display. In the gym however I also use the stopwatch to time myself between sets.
Ah, the minor flaw I hear you ask. Well, not sure if its the same for all of them, but my watch turned up (ordered it online, as I'm from UK) with goldish coloured minute/hour/second hands. This basically meant visibility was not very good especially when outside in the sun, you have to look at the watch for several seconds to work out the time. Me being impatient? Perhaps, but consider this drawback whilst driving where you just want a quick one second glance for the time.
Anyway, I took the watch to my local watch dealer and he somehow painted the hands with some black ink for only a couple of quid. He told me afterwards 'not many watch dealers would do this!'.
So now I have the perfect watch which I'm perfectly happy with :)
The Casio Twincept Series is one of the best things that has ever happend to the watch's industry's customers.
I have the twincept ABX-53 for 7 years by now, and I have never thought about replacing or anything like that.
Unfortunately, like VolksWagen's Beetle, it's too good to be kept selling over.
So take that chance, and enjoy life!
