This is a very nice looking watch. I needed something dressy and waterproof. This watch so far has been what I needed. I have one complaint and that is the dials on the face are hard to read and require more than a glance to get what information I need. The date for example. The hour hands also could be more distinct. The blend into the face to well for a casual glance to read. So I can't give this watch full ratings for simple issues like what the watch was made for.

This is not a fancy watch, but it is functional and looks nice. It is a good watch to wear to work every day. The information shown on the inside is not easy to read and the latch mechanism is strong, but has a gap that depending on your type of work, might get you caught on something.

I received the watch as promised - however a week after I received the watch, I noticed that it was being offered $49.95 ! This was almost $20.00 less than what I had paid ! This does leave a rather sour taste !
The small dials, I found were too small to read easily.
It is a good looking watch and keeps good time. At $49.00 it is a good buy.

I had gotten my husband a water resistant watch and paid a lot more money than I did for this watch. It was not water reistant and fell apart. This watch is water resistant, but he dislikes the large metal clasp on the back, and would prefer that the band not have this.

The wrist band is easy to adjust if you go and buy the pin remover as advertised on Amazon ($9.00 or less)and go to Casio watch tech. support to understand how to do it . Wrist band adjustment should be put in with instructions with watch and show an illustration and one bad part that one customer wrote was the monthly adjustment ? We'll she was correct in that every month with less than 31 DAYS DOES NEED TO BE ADJUSTED ! It's not to difficult to do though . All-IN-All a good watch at a great price .

It is a nice looking watch & I do like the large easy to see numbers. But I'm not wild about the layout of the watch. The abbreviated day is shown next to the time & that's o.k. But below the time is the year shown first then the date & day. I'd prefer it the other way around. The other feature that I dislike, is that the light doesn't stay on as long as you have the button pressed. It only stays on for a couple of seconds. So I think I could have done better. But I'll live with it for the price I paid. Which was decent.

Great watch for little money. I love my G shock g5600 atomic solar, however it is a little uncomfortable to wear all of the time. I was looking for a watch with similar styling but that was not as bulky. This watch meets my needs perfectly. I am 6'2" and 240 lbs. and the watch does not look too small on me. The band is plenty long for people with thicker wrists. The only downsides are that it does not have a count down timer and it has an led light. But neither of these items are necessary for me. It is a nice alternative for people who like the styling of the classic g shock 5600 series but do not want a watch that is quite as large. As far as atomic time: it is nice, but digital watches usually keep very accurate time. With all of these watches the bands will break before the battery dies, so solar is kind of a gimmick as well.
It is nice to be able to see day, date and year at the same time on the watch as well. It looks like this one will be unavailable in the US soon. It is not listed on the Casio website for the US, but it is listed on the casio website for other countries.
Good throw away watch.
UPDATE: 3 DAYS LATER:
Watch face is extremely easy to scratch. I have had other watches for years with no scratches. But this one got a scratch in less that one day. I barely wore it. I don't think that I would get this watch for that reason in the future.

I bought this watch and also Casio's MQ247B analog watch. Both have stickers on manual booklets saying they have mercury (element Hg, does not say how much) in them! This may be just fine for many people but I try to avoid encouraging use of heavy metals in watch design. Specific to this AQ47-7E dual watch, the screen is made of soft material (acrylic?) and is raised so it will get scratched very easily. The construction of the watch is ergonomic, clean and light. The rectangular watch body is a bit narrower on the sides than the round-faced kinds, making its sides streamlined and not get in the way of wrist bending.

I've owned this watch for at least 5 years before the wrist band cracked. The watch itself still runs just fine. Consider that this $15 investment lasted 5 years, it's an amazing value.
The watch is fairly actuate and have alarm and dual time display, the wrist band is comfortable and the style is great.

I purchased this casio watch because my other watch had died and I needed a simple watch and I didn't want to spend much money. It was very inexpensive and that's what I was looking for.
It does what it's supposed to, which is to keep basic time. I wish I had gotten a watch with the calendar function because I never realized how frequently I looked to my old watch for the date. I felt I wouldn't need it, but a lifetime of looking for the date on one's wrist is hard to break.
My biggest complaint with the watch is the texture of the wristband. It's some sort of rubbery plastic material. I hate how it feels on my skin and it's a little too short for my wrist. I've actually purchased a replacement watch band for it and that helps a lot.
If you want a basic cheap watch that holds time and is easily readable, this watch would be fine. And if you lose it, no big deal because it only cost $11 or $12 dollars.

I needed a simple watch for travel. I always worry that the wake up call won't come or I set the clock wrong. If I set my watch I sleep much more relaxed.
The description said dual time but I wasn't sure if that meant Analog and digital. It is actually triple time. Analog, digital and a second digital dual time for another time zone. Very nice for $20.

I bought this model again because I forgot my first one overseas when I went on vacation. The style is just to my liking. Not complicated, flashy or bulky, just plain and simple at a very good price. After the battery runs out in about ten years I'm getting another one!
I bought this watch from Walmart in Sep 2004 and the band started to wear out around Jan 2008 and broke off in March 2008 so I got 3 + years of use for $16.00
Casio markets the watch with a 10 year battery which is useless since you cant get a standard band to fit on it since this one uses a novel band with screws which I must admit is a lot easier to replace provided you can find one. All on all it is a good watch with excellent display. I dont much care about reading the time in the dark since there are very few places you dont have light and all cars have clocks and in movie theaters is works fine.
I have used two of this watch, and for both the band broke in about 1 year.
This watch is not too fansy, but it has everything I need (time, date, month, and year). I have it for 4 months, and I like it.
Digital watches have been dropping features, not adding them. The W96H is an old-fashioned, full-featured digital, with big numbers. The band is non-standard, however.
This is an excellent choice for an all-around watch.
I have had this watch for about a year and it has taken a beating and kept going. It had a lot of nice features. The bad part is that the watchband is very non-standard and I cannot get a replacement even from Casio. But for 15 bucks, which is what I paid for it, I cannot complain too much. My advice is to either buy a Casio watch with a standard band, which is what I replaced this one with, or if you love it just buy a new one, even if you could find the band it is probably the same price as the watch anyway.
This is a great digital watch with a 10 yr battery. It has an alarm with snooze functionality. All the information you need is right there on the screen and it has big easy to read letters. The only downside is that it tends to scratch/scuff easily since the face sticks out a little bit. You have to be careful not to swipe it against stuff.
