"Practical watch for the surfer in you" 2009-07-29
By Eagle Vision (Southeastern United States)
Well, I do body boarding and I wanted a water resistant watch that was not terribly expensive. This is a cost effective timepiece given the functions and design.

The durability of the watch for 200m is good for someone with an active lifestyle in the water. This is a simple watch that has a timer, stopwatch, 3 alarms, and illuminated hands for when you are reading the time in the dark. The light allows for viewing in total darkness but the script can be small for some folks. The moon data is nice to have, but not something that I depend upon.

The band is comfortable and the watch is solid in construction. I do find reading the digital time and date difficult with the hands in the way but it is not a deal breaker. The protective crystal is scratch resistant but not protected by the bezel.

It is a solid choice for a person with an active lifestyle.

 "Not so Good" 2008-12-12
By K.K. (Chicago, USA)
This watch is not as good as it looks in the picture. I would not recommend it to anybody.

In fact a good choice in place of this one would be the Casio Men's Forester Sports Thermometer Watch.

 "Se ve bien...." 2009-05-26
By Sergio Hernandez (Valencia Venezuela)

 "actually works" 2009-04-06
By R. Mccandless (reno, nv)
once you set the watch for your location the fish feeding indicator is fairly close. I fish daily and have been watching it for 2 months now. with the exception of changes in barometric preasure the watch calculates top feeding times and seems to nail it within 30 min, if they had included a barometer in the watch and cross referenced it to the moon phase it would have been near perfect. the few times it has been off were due to obvious preasure changes, if your lucky enough to be out while the preasure is falling before a storm and the moon phase says dinner time for trout you'll have a fish every other cast or so. I'd give it 5 stars but the light could be better (it works, but barely) and the band size (12mm or 13mm I think) makes finding replacement bands difficult, considering what the watch is for it would be nice to have a more secure band like the double wrap or nato style bands but unfortunately they don't come that small.

 "nice looking Watch" 2009-03-04
By Michael Gentile (St. Louis, Missouri)
The watch is a very good looking watch....however: The band is very small, I think to small..I'm a big guy with a small wrist...it barely goes to the first hole on the band and then the slot that hold the tongue is to big and does not stay in place....as to being a leather band...2cm from the watch is leather, the rest is Nylon...when you press the button for light only from 9 to 3 lights up...the top half...forget about seeing anything below that..The lower half of the watch is very small and sometimes hard to read...I have not been out in the sun with it as yet...

 "A good low-end watch" 2007-09-19
By Tar Heel Mike (Durham, NC)
The watch is basically as advertised. "Cons" would be that it's hard to upgrade/replace the band because of the narrow pin connections...and the light isn't nearly as good as the backlit "indiglo" watches. So far though it keeps time, the alarm works, I can't figure out how to calibrate my location for the moon cycle stuff...but that's a gimick feature anyway.

the product came to be if your battery does not change myself for coming back to live in another country, but with the remains of great products

Customer Buzz
I would give it a 5 but not to crazy about the camouflage band, but it is a hunting watch, went to a store and bought a new band (black). ...Other than that, its a good watch, I use the digital time as a dual time and it also has a dual time that I use for a different city.

Customer Buzz
I got it from Amazon very fast (faster than I estimated - thanks)being really pleased at seeing it first time out of the box. Indeed is a heavy watch (cannot be forgotten, it,s absence will be noticed :) ) but should be considered that is fully stainless steel case and mineral glass not plastic. Till now works very well, even say "hunt" :)) , seriously is a strong and precise watch.
What I don't like: orange display light and camouflage belt. Would have been great a solid black leather belt, considering that the display colour is black, but this can be fixed later.
Anyway, if you need a solid and precise watch go fo it.
I forgot about battery life, is specified 10 years, now I have to wait and see... :))

Customer Buzz
I could have liked this watch, but there is one important feature that is not mentioned anywhere in the description. It has a cheesy camouflage band. Indeed the inner part of the band is leather but it is covered with camo material on the outside. This model is the "Hunting Timer." The watch also seems exceptionally heavy to me. I'll be returning it.

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Forester Illuminator Sport Watch #FT610WV-3BV

Product Description

The large, easy-to-read face found on the casio Men's Ana-Digi Forester Illuminator Sport Watch make it a favorite workout accessory for athletes. This durable timepiece is constructed with a stainless steel case, a stationary brown stainless steel bezel, and a comfortable brown nylon wristband with an adjustable buckle clasp for a personalized fit. A durable mineral window shields the cream dial face, which features black Arabic numeral hour indexes, striking black watch hands, and a digital display at the six o'clock position. The quartz-powered watch includes day, date, and month displays, and is water resistant to 330 feet. This watch is backed by a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

Customer Buzz
I have used Casio Forester watches for over twelve years. I tried them initially because I needed a watch that can take a pounding and had a band that won't break in a field environment such as Iraq and Afghanistan. I have never had a band break on these watches. I usually replace them about every two years due to the crystal becoming scratched up. This is a great inexpensive watch that is tough enough to handle shock, heat, cold, dirt, dust and scuba diving.

Customer Buzz
This watch is great for travel and every day use. The band on it is terrible and has been replaced. It was just a big velco strap which was cumbersome and ugly. I now have a very useful watch that looks good.

Customer Buzz
This is the BEST watch value EVER!! It is a functional watch with 2 time zones at a single glance. I am currently stationed in Bagram Air base in Afghanistan, and I need to know 3 time zones (Zulu, Local and Pacific) time concurrently. It is worn 24/7, even in the shower. Thanks for the best watch value I've ever owned.
Tony

Customer Buzz
The dial is great, looks cool and sleek. The only main problem I had with this was the strap. More information on the type of strap has to be provided on the site. The strap I got was a Velcro one! I expected it to be a normal plastic strap with a buckle. Velcro ones are extremely difficult to handle when you wear or remove the watch. Multiple angles of the watch have to be provided so that the customer can make a complete review before deciding to buy it.

Customer Buzz
Had this watch for almost 7 years. First battery lasted about 5 years. Wear this watch daily and it gets some rough treatment. Still works great.

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Forester Illuminator Sport Watch #FT600WB-5BV

Product Description

The large, easy-to-read face found on the casio Men's Ana-Digi Forester Illuminator Sport Watch make it a favorite everyday accessory for athletes. The quartz-powered watch includes day, date, and month displays, and is water resistant to 330 feet. This watch is backed by a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

Customer Buzz
Like others have said, the watch is great. Analog is easy to read, digital has loads of features. When new, the band is very nice, but it doesn't last nearly as long as the watch. I am ordering my 3rd Forester, primarily due to the band failure (a new Casio band is about the same price as a new watch). Also, as others mentioned, the crystal does get scratched and the band pin holes do wear. Even so, the value for $30 is still very good.

Customer Buzz
I've been wearing this type of watch (Casio Analog-Digital Forester Illuminator) for over ten years. They last for about three years and then the digital display starts to fade away (even with new batteries). The Forester works well everywhere from winter camping in the mountains to summer hiking in the desert. The push button illuminator is very handy in the middle of the night and the dual time zone feature is helpful when traveling. The watch can take a lot of abuse and still keep perfect time.

Customer Buzz
I totally agree with the first reviewer, as I am in the exact same position: had two of these watches before and am crazy for them. The band is indeed designed to last no more than 2 years. I also decided to buy a brand new watch, after the first band gave out, because of the price of the replacement band. I love the multi-time zone display capability, as I travel abroad often on business and always leave the analog display on NY Time, while using the digital display for the local time wherever I am in the globe.

Customer Buzz
I really love these watches. I have owned two now. I purchased the first one because it's a sports watch, and I am an active person. It si also very light weight. The problem is, I only got two years out of the band. When looking for a new band, I found only one website that had it, and it was only a couple of dollars cheaper than buying a whole new watch. I liked the watch so much, I purchased a second one. Again, the band only lasted two years. I wish they had a longer lasting band than this, especially since it's supposed to be a sports watch. At this point, watch #3 will be the forester with the metal band.

Customer Buzz
I've had one of these watches for 5 years, it keeps perfect time and date, has a great stop watch function, digital plus analog time-- what more could you want? OK, maybe it's not the fashion statement you're after, but when I want to impress somebody I drag out the Seiko, which never has the right time. It's true that the plastic crystal gets scratched up (but hey, it's a rubber watch, right? What do you want for $25?)and after a few years the pin sockets get worn so that the strap comes loose, which is why I'm buying a new one now. Also, I can't hear the alarm, but that's because my hearing has lost the high frequencies, and it's hard to read the hands in the dark when you push the illuminator button-- BUT all in all I would say the Forester Illuminator is near the top of the World's Best Rubber Watches. Or at least it was back in the distant past when I bought mine. We'll see how the new one holds up.

Casio Men's Electro-Luminescent Forester Analog Sport Watch #FT500WV-1BV

Product Description

The large, easy-to-read face on the casio Men's Electro-Luminescent Forester Sport Watch make it a favorite workout accessory for athletes. This durable timepiece is constructed with a lightweight resin case, a stationary black stainless steel bezel, and a comfortable black nylon wristband with an adjustable buckle clasp for a personalized fit. A durable mineral window shields the black dial face, which features gray Arabic numeral hour indexes, complementary silver-tone watch hands, and a discrete 24-hour clock display. The quartz-powered watch includes a date calendar at three o'clock and is water resistant to 330 feet. This watch is backed by a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

Customer Buzz
I own three Omegas, two Citizens and three Seikos, but the little Casio Forester is the watch that goes with me into harm's way. I work in very severe conditions--in the Middle East. You don't want to expose a fine mechanical or even quartz watch to daily dust baths and searing desert heat. The little Casio has held up through the worst of conditions, and still keeps time to within 15 seconds a month of the atomic clock in Colorado. It's highly water resistant, and so light you hardly know it's on your wrist. Amazon sells this watch under $20. How can you complain about a rugged, accurate watch for under $20? I usually wear an Omega when going "out on the town," but the Casio is my watch for the dust storms and being around things that could knock your expensive watch silly. My expensive watches will last much longer because I have sense enough not to wear them to work!

Customer Buzz
I like this watch. It comes in several colors. The band is velcro covered canvas. It wears out after 2-3 years and so I get a new one and give the old one to one of my granchildren or nephews and nieces. They love them.

Customer Buzz
I like this watch because it is simple and stylish, not flashy at all, and analog. I really like the simple style of the basic digital Casio that's available, but I do not like digital watches. The date indicator on here is also analog, unlike the many analog watches with digital date displays (though you do have to reset it after months that aren't 31 days - at this price it's hard to complain with that.)

Unlike some of the other reviewers on here, I find mine to be very durable. I've had it for at least five or six years and have taken it through several rough adventures and extended wilderness trips. Haven't had it fail (or the battery die) in that time due to rain/snow, extreme cold, getting beat up on rocks (I'm a geology graduate student), swimming in lakes, whitewater rivers, waterfalls, and oceans, and the hot shower every day for that matter.

After all that, yeah - it's scratched and beat-up looking. Yes, it's made of plastic - I'm not sure what these other reviewers expected. The picture looks like it's plastic. It doesn't say anywhere it's made of metal. I personally like that my watch displays all that it's been through - the surface is polished down (the word Forester and the little logo is long gone), it has a few deep scratches, the (plastic) face is full of scratches (which can be easily polished out with toothpaste by the way) ...and it still runs great.

I have had it literally ripped off of my wrist twice - a hazard in the kind of things I do - the little metal rod that holds the band on was pulled out. Once, I managed to find it, stuck it back in, and it was fine. The second time, the metal piece got lost. I replaced it with a new one from a replacement band (I didn't use the replacement band - the original was fine - I bought the cheapest band I could get that had the same size metal thing.) Though a watch not made of plastic might not have been ripped off by being pulled on with extreme force, I'm very glad that it did - the alternative would have been quite painful for my wrist!

I have not had to replace the band, I just clean it occasionally. The watch was almost ripped off my wrist a third time, but not with as much force. This time, the already-weakened leather that attaches the band to the metal rod tore almost all the way through, holding on by threads. I couldn't find a direct replacement for the band, and I didn't like the alternatives, so I simply repaired it with gaffer's tape (similar to duct tape but made of matte black cloth - something I have around because I'm a photographer.)

I'm here writing this review because I *am* finally looking for a replacement. I think I may end up buying a different watch for casual use, but I will keep coming back to my years-old Forester when I go on adventures until I finally lose it on a mountain or in a lake somewhere.

Customer Buzz
OH MY LORD ITS PLASTIC!!!!!!!! i think they call it resin, whatever it is the whole watch weights 30 grams. If u want a metal watch then go buy one. They all weight over 100 grams. I wore this watch 2years then gave it to my 16yo son to wear for 2 then took it back after a pulsar failed. This watch takes beatings like a g-shock... Keep in mind, the crystal is acrylic (plastic) just like all lower price casio's and timex. the watch can last a VERY long time(decades) but the face will scratch. this watch face scratched on me as another casio did so I did a search on ebay for 'watch scratch remover' and I purchased a product [..] it was[...] including shipping it worked great on the watch... i could hardly read it before and now it looks brand new, also works on cd's, video game cd's, ipod, cell phone..etc...so that saved me having to buy a new watch when this one does its job so very well. after 2 years the time advanced 3minutes. good acuracy. band was replaced after 2 years because it would smell like sweat so I soaked it in bleach all night and it ate up the band...got a rubber one on now that came off a 3 dollar watch. looks great. took the band off and threw that chinese watch in the garbage. I remember the velcro band being pretty good tho...but it soaked up sweat I think. I can almost garantee unless I smash this watch on the pavement very hard or something of that nature this watch will be around for 10 more years atleast...take it for what it is..... will post a pic of this 5yo watch with the rubber band for all to see how its held up. (after using the scratch remover)

Customer Buzz
I bought this because I was traveling through Europe and didn't want to bring a good watch.

It barely made it through my 8 week trip.

Casio Men's Forester Sports Thermometer Watch #AQF100WD-9BV

Product Description

The high-performance Forester Watch #AQF100WD-9BV from casio is so much more than a mere timepiece: it's a source of vital information for hiking, working out, traveling, or simply making your way to work. Offering a temperature tendency graph, auto-calendar pre-programmed until the year 2099, and 1/100-second stopwatch with the capacity to measure elapsed time, split time, and first and second place time, this rugged accessory keeps you organized and in control. There's also a daily alarm, world time for 30 time zones (50 cities), and an auto electro-luminescent backlight with afterglow. Water resistant to 330 feet, this sleek stainless steel watch boasts the precision of quartz movement for optimum reliability. This watch is protected by a one-year manufacturer's warranty.

Customer Buzz
This watch has everything I could ever want in a watch ... problems include the fact that the thermometer registers a higher temperature than ambient as it does not compensate for the warmth of the wrist. You have to take it off for a while to register an environmental temperature. This particular watch has no scratchproof glass. Worst of all, it is very difficult to adjust the time and some of the other controls - it has no simple time setting screw knob like most simpler watches. Without the instructions, you'd be lost in setting the time. However once set, it works after getting wet, indicates moon phase accurately and also shows time in at least two places, one for where you are and one for any adopted country. Casio or the competition, please improve the watch setting features. No other brand does a moon phase dual time watch as economical as this.

Customer Buzz
I knew what I wanted & found it easily. The price was better than competitive. It was easy to purchase it. It came in a timely fashion. My credit card was charged correctly. On the whole it was a good experience. I would use this vendor again - anytime!!
Debbie Drechsler

Customer Buzz
I like the watch at first. Temp. feature is miss leading and is only accurate if you remove the watch. Your own body heat effects the temperature reading (dah).

However, after 3 month the watch died. It felt like I was just renting the watch.

Customer Buzz
The watch comes with fully loaded functions varying from built-in thermometer to calculation of tidal & moon phase. It has stopwatch, timer, auto-light feature, DST settings, world time, alarm, drop sensor, water resistant (10 bars), green electro-luminescence, metal strap and digital/analog feature and lots of others.

Customer Buzz
I bought this watch for my husband less than 6 months ago as a gift. Initially we were both thrilled with all the cool features and the very cool look of the watch. When it came down to wearing it, it doesn't stand up. The face scratched the first day and after several weeks he was worried about scratching it up and stopped wearing it. His work is not a rough job, he's a pilot. A week ago, the plastic piece they hide between the metal front and the back of the case broke, mind you he was just sitting at home on the couch, and CASIO refuses to warranty it because he lost the receipt. This watch is crap, unless you only plan to wear it once. Don't waste your money.

Customer Buzz
Recieved as stated. The watch is super, when going thru the digital features, i.e; temp, alarm, world time and other features, the analog dials reflected the current time always, this is the greatest feature I like. The watch, band and all of the features under the glass has the look. The watch reflects it is resistance to 100 meters, will find out this summer, but it worked great while out in the rain. Setup features were easy for me once you get the hang of it, it took a few trys to set up the world time, and when Daylight Savings time kicked in, it worked, including changing from 2006 to 2007. Again - Hats off to Casio, another great time piece.

Customer Buzz
This is a nice, good looking and sturdy watch. Features like world time, automatic backlight and the analog+digital features make it a worthwhile buy. The thermometer is very accurate (once you calibrate it to your body temp). The strap however although it is very well made, has big links which make it somehow difficult to adjust to some wrists (because it can get too tight or too loose). Not a big deal though.

Customer Buzz
Casio is very good when it comes to watches.I loved this watch.its worth its price.

Customer Buzz
For $59 you can't go wrong. The overall quality of the watch seems high and the watch has a very substantial feel to it. As far as features go, you couldn't want more. The moon phase and tide indicators don't serve any real purpose other than to give you some cool stuff to look at on the watch. The thermometer is kind of neat but it will definitely need to be calibrated if you want a meaningful temp reading while wearing the watch. My experience with Casio watches has always been good and this one looks like it won't let me down.
