This is a great watch. It keeps time very well, plus it looks and feels like a much more expensive watch. My only complaint is that it doesen't have a DATE reading--thus it looses a star. If it had that I would have bought 2 more of them!
what can i say other than the title , love the watch which is pretty decent for the price and the shipment was really fast , just wish the size could be adjusted easier , but overall no complaints at all
Did not know Casio was able to creat such a beautiful watch. I'm not a pilot by any mean to figure out what the bezel and those measuring numbers and "gadgets" are for but merely for aesthetics sakes (personally). Albeit, if you ever have to depend on this watch for its "flying function" instead of the aircraft's instruments (Nav, GPS, etc.) or other calculating devices, you just might be trouble. Although, one might add that this is one cool looking watch and the stop watch function is on par. Other than that, it is a nice semi-dressy work watch you can wear anytime/anywhere. Great price, fast service, thanks Amazon and Chelsea Watches!
I paid $53 for the watch just before Christmas 2008, and today (1/5/09) it is $74. Be patient. It is, nevertheless, one of the least expensive chronograph watches. I like the watch although I had to remove two links from the bracelet.
Looks good. But it is a bit heavy on hand if you are use to of wearing good light watches...
I wear a Movado watch and I bought this one to wear it casually while save the other one for more formal occasions...
but it didn't work that way...
Looks better than what you see in the picture. I like the feeling that it is quite heavy. The pressing the stop watch button felt cheap. Not easy to see the time at night.
i bought this watch recently.. trust me its a great watch for this price... and it is really nice than what you see in the picture...
i'm totally satisfied with this watch. so as a owner of this watch i would say if you want to buy this watch do not hesitate to buy it... just go for it.. trust me you would be more than satisfied...
This watch is a great buy for the price. It looks even nicer than the pictures. The face is actually 2 designs/circles. The outer circle is just black and the inner circle is a bunch of circles within each other which makes a cool optical illusion type design. When you rotate the bezel, it does not make any clicking sound which I really like, yet stays in place.
A great watch for a moderate price, looks like an expensive one.Fast delivery but cheap box.
I ordered this item on July 6, it arrived here in APO AE July 13... that was fast for a week. i even thought it would arrive on 17th as Amazon said on their email.

Hope you guys had a great weekend

I like and dislike the watch. It is very heavy on the wrist, and rides up and down all day, rubbing my arm and pulling hair out (w/ metal band). It feels tighter in summer. The latch system seems overcomplicated. The face looks cheaper when you get up close to it. Setting it is rather byzantine - press one button six times to reset the time! There are many features, which somehow amuse me even when I don't need them - like the thermometer. The alarm - which is easily set or un-set by accidental bumps - is nice. At midnight it goes off in doubled rings, for some reason. The booklet, mostly in multiple languages, is not great. Wish the leather band version was a similar price. Probably won't get it again.
Everything went very smoothly for this purchase until the watch battery died the same day I rec'd the watch...now I have to get the battery replaced.
A very good watch. The only issue I have is that the hands of the watch get the way of the temperature read out.
This is a gift for my younger brother. When I received the watch, the packaging is really lousy; luckily the watch wasn't damaged. It is an "ok" watch, to me it is too complicated and hard to tell the time. But my brother likes it. This is the main point.
This is an excellent watch that looks great. The watch is solid with some weight to it but not too heavy. I purchased it because I needed a watch with a timer. The only complaint I have with the watch is the display cannot be seen under the analog hands so I have hard time seeing the remaining time on the timer.
-Watch is much heavier then I expected, to the point of being uncomfortable
-The digital part of the watch does not stay "lit up" at all times. You must push the light button to see the digital display, unlike most digital watches. I can't even see the display during the daylight without using the light.
-The hands often block the digital display
-I can't adjust the band to make it smaller, and I am a really big guy. I probably need to visit a jeweler.
What a bummer.
I have had a Casio watch for about a year and now the watchband needs replaced. I was informed by Walmart that they cannot replace a Casio watchband. I called Casio and they told me that as far as they know NO CASIO WATCHBAND CAN BE REPLACED BY A NORMAL WATCHBAND! I had to order a watchband from Casio and they had to know which model it was before I ordered it. Total price: $12.00 shipping, handling and sales tax included. I then asked the representative if instructions would be included because it was a different type of setup instead of pins. HE SAID THAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO RECOMMEND TAKING THE BAND TO A JEWELER TO HAVE IT PUT ON!! PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS AS BANDS DO NOT LAST FOREVER!!
It's what I expected altho, being a multi-functioning watch, takes a learning curve to get up to speed.
I got this watch for my brother but it was returned as he had much trouble trying to get the watch regulated. Out of frustration he asked me to return the watch, which I did.
The only claim that i have it is smaller than looks in the picture, could be because I'm a big men that why to me is a little bit petti.
Nice model and feel it compact.

Have a Nice Days!
Cheers
Good watch, Thermometer is a not useful though. I gaurentee temperature reading is way off when you wear it.
Watch arrived promptly[6 days to regional Australia].Works great .Instruction booklet printing needs to be larger.
I recently bought this watch and I was amazed of what precise the ferenheit is and the quality of a watch. I bought another Casio digital watch from Amazon too but this one caught my eye and it works well, the only problem is that moon seting are a bit different then I expected but overall its great watch!
This watch serves all of the purposes and is nice and large without being heavy. I like everything about it. Temp seems to be relatively accurate after setting it to me (within 2 degrees at any given time). I like the luminescent hands and backlight. Still haven't figured out what the appearing and disappearing blocks around the outside do? They move in time with seconds, but don't count seconds (10 seconds are not counted from 25 to 35?). Only complaints are I wish the backlight worked for as long as I hold the light button instead of afterglow (but I'm sure others prefer this feature, so not too big of grievance), and I would like to see an inset crystal on future models (lots of room for damage as is), also a true rubber band instead of resin would be nice (I'm sure this would drive up the price though). Overall, extremely pleased. Shipping was fast and watch showed up in perfect condition.
My new favorite watch. I needed a tide clock but bought this because it looked like a better deal for the money. It takes some time to set the tide function correctly but once it is right, you will love it. The thermometer is a nice extra. I can now walk on the beach at the best times and I love knowing what the moon phase is for the day.
For the price, this is good. I really like the showing of world time, and the look I also like.
The only disadvantage is the thermometer always give a around 30 degree C number when you wear it. If you want the accurate temperature, you should take the watch off and wait for 10min.
Excellent, covered all my expectations, it has features that I did not know where to purchase the watch. It is ideal for any occasion, for their colors and design on the other hand, although Casio indicates that their values are referential temperature, their measurements are almost accurate.
Execelente reloj depórtivo, mi hijo de 14 años esta muy satisfecho, excelente compra, muy buen precio y marca
The watch is what it is, no more or less. However, the temperature gauge not only does not work; but it is wildly incorrect
I've been trying to find a sensibly sized and priced replacement for my existing Casio watch with a 'Thermometer' for several years. Being a heating engineer apart from the obvious that it gives me accurate time I find a watch with a thermometer so very handy when balancing and checking room and water temperatures etc plus other features like the stop watch I can use for adjusting gas rates on heating appliances etc.
I purchased my first Casio 'Thermomter' watch in the UK in the 1980's and it is still working perfectly but while wearing it at work the face did get very scratched. My second Casio 'Thermomter' watch again I purchased in the UK over ten years ago, it too as suffered some external damage but it is still working perfectly and I'm still wearing it at work. The 'Casio Forester Sports Thermometer' watch has the same plus a lot more features which I can also use at work. Since at the moment it's still very 'New' I don't know if it will be as reliable and as robust as my last two Casio watches but at this time I am extremely pleased with it. However, it must be acknowledged that like all small complex elecronics it is a little bit tedious to initially set up. The one thing a didn't like was the very small instruction manual which is folded in half and then forced into the watch display stand and which after removal stays creased and folds itself when using. When items like this are a little complex they really should have better and clearer instruction manuals. Keith Simmonds

Have a great day everybody!

Delivery was quick, product was well packed and looked exactly like the picture. The watch face itself is a little large, but not over bearing. The watch band is large, so I had a local department store watch department remove a link.. no charge.
Casio wants $17 to fix a $20 watch. Who wants to order another one that may break in a week? We are telling them to keep the watch.
On the newer model I received the only trick to removing a link was to: 1)pry up one of the links with an arrow on it to about 45 degrees
2)slide out that undesired link (repeat to take out more then one)
3)pry up another link with an arrow and reattach the strap.
Overall really easy and much better then spending the $10-$20 the watch shops wanted for the adjustment
Overall happy with the watch- a very solid 4 stars.
the setting is a bit complicated probably because i never took the time to fiddle or read the manual it has an alarm, different world time, night light and a mini note holder which i find pretty kool
I love this watch - unfortunately I've had it for 14 months and the 10 year battery only lasted 10 months and the watch recently has been malfunctioning. The analog time is losing about 5-10 minutes and a day and the timer has been blinking out sometimes - just stops.
Warranty has expired so it's not worth a dime. Too bad. It's perfect for a cheap watch that has hands, an alarm and a timer.
I may even buy another one assuming that I'm just renting this for a year or two for $20...
Works great.. looks good... i was not that satisfied with the belt as it kinda looks inferior when you wear it. watch is light in weight and heavy in functionality...
Good one.
All the features specified are good enough to make it a good watch.
Should consider this , if thinking of this price range.
It is a nice watch, however the band was broken, and there was no way I could get it fixed with amazon. This is a major concern with me. It wasn't shipping damage, so I couldn't go to the shipper, is was broke from Amazon, and there are no known methodologies for returning it to Amazon. Now I am worried about the laptop I ordered.
I like to buy watches for gifts, they are a great gift. This watch,is great,
easy to read, keeps great time.No complaints from anyone that I bought them
for presents.They love this watch!
This is a nice watch for the price you pay for it. And I'm expecting it to last me a while.
Two things people should be aware of though:
1)While the band is metal, the watch body is plastic.
2)The "glass" of the watch is dome shaped not flat, so it may be easy to scratch. I have gotten it dirty several times by accidentally rubbing my hand against a wall. I was lucky that the was was painted and not concrete or the glass would have been badly scratched.

This is a neat watch. It synchronizes perfectly every evening, even when I'm wearing the watch in bed. It is a good looking watch, too. The weak point is the crystal (piece of clear glass/plastic) that covers the dial. On most watches, this crystal is made of super-hardened glass. On this watch it is made of plastic, and it scratches easily. Plastic crystals are frequently used on lower-quality watches, but if Casio wants to bill the WaveCeptor as a truly unique "techie" watch, they need to upgrade the crystal to glass pronto. Be aware if you get this watch, you'll scratch the crystal - it's only a matter of time.
My last casio watch was stolen. It was the digital solar casio, with the time setting function from Fort Collins. I miss that watch! This one is much lighter and slimmer. It took 7 of my friends, to finally get the day and date set properly. Now everything is just fine. Maybe I'll review this watch in a few months again, who knows...
Ordered a Waveceptor WVA-430J from Amazon last Sunday night, it arrived via UPS yesterday (Wednesday) as advertised. Couldn't wait to open it. Glad my wife was there to see it too, or else she wouldn't have believed me. We took it out of the box, and as soon as it saw light, it woke up. The hour and minute hand spun to what it thought was the correct time, and then the second hand swept to the correct second. What a gas to see.
A lot of thought has been put into the design of this watch, in terms of functionality, workmanship, and looks. I've never seen a watch with sweep second, minute, and hour hands that hit ALL the minute marks so dead center. When it's 12:02, the minute hand stays on :02 until the second hand hits 12:00. Then at that instant, the minute hand moves dead onto the next minute mark. What a great piece of work. When the watch arrived, I couldn't get it to settle into the right time zone. Unbeknown to me, it was set to Tokyo time. The manual did not state how to recognize this or what to do about it, but instead said to scroll through the digital display until it said "US 60." It never did. I had to call Casio support. The tech, after several unsuccessful tries, figured out what was going on, found the right combination of buttons to fix it, and then proceeded to sail through the rest of the setup. This tech clearly had done the setup routine many times, for what that's worth.
The contrast between the numbers and the dark gray background is high, it's very easy to tell the time. The hour & minute hands are luminous, as are the numbers; they were still readable in the morning after sitting in the dark all night. There is also a teeny, tiny speck of luminous material on the second hand but it's so small it's almost invisible.
The Waveceptor and PV cell functions are superlative. The battery was in a high state of charge right out of the box. I live just outside of Philadelphia, PA, and the radio signal from Colorado, inside the house, away from windows, was full strength. Amazing.
The comments about the manual are correct; font size is about 1 pt and the booklet is 2"h x 3-1/2"w, about the size of two small matchbooks side-by-side. You will need good eyes to read it. It's not the best-written manual either, but once you get used to its leaving out small but important bits of information it's all down hill <not>.
Can't wait to see how this watch and the mineral wrist strap hold up. If first impressions are a guide, this watch is for keeps.
This is a great watch! It's handsome, full-featured, durable and accurate. I highly recommend it as a great value.
This watch is perfect. It has everything anyone would need in a basic watch. I've charged it once since I got it and it's still running on that same charge for months since then without any drop in battery power at all. Easy to figure out once you read the manual. Most people complain of the watch's settings being too difficult to configure, but it is all clearly laid out in the manual if you can read it. It's comfortable, and light. It has many neat settings: you can display two time zones simultaneously, as well as many display options and functions. This is the last watch I'll ever need...
This is a superb product, much improved over the former version. (Since I became familiar with features of the earlier version, learning curve for this one was less formidable.) As is true for many products (computer, automobile, GPS), this watch has more features than I use--but may be of interest to others--and comes at a very reasonable price.
It's fascinating to open the container in which this watch has hibernated in darkness for untold months, and observe as the sunlight awakens the solar cell and the hands swing into motion, updating themselves to reflect the current time. This watch performs exactly as advertised: the solar cell apparently keeps the internal battery fully charged in normal use, and the receiver catches a signal to keep the time accurate just about every day.
I originally stumbled on this watch because I wanted a timepiece with an analog display, a day/date, and an internal light for reading it at night. It's surprising how few watches have this collection of features and aren't hideous, multi-dialed monstrosities.
An added pleasure of this watch is that the luminescent markings on the watch hands work extremely well, holding a "charge" for hours and making the watch readable at night without activating the internal light.
I did not find the instructions for setting the watch particularly obtuse. While it could be a little more intuitive, the instructions are complete and I've had no problem using them. I ended up setting the watch to show the Japanese days of the week, which makes this the first watch I've owned that has actually taught me something I never knew. English days of the week are also available if you don't like learning new things.
The only issue I've experienced with the watch is that like many watches in its price range, the crystal display did eventually get a little scratched up. Since this watch recharges itself through the solar cell and could theoretically last forever, I would have liked to see a more scratch-resistant face.
The watch is what I expected. I agree with the other reviewers in that it keeps accurate time and is easy to use with the exception of the ridiculous instruction manual. This manual is about 3/8" thick and the size of a business card with type for people who can read the Lord's Prayer engraved on a needle head. It is also confusing to change from Japanese setting to English.
I do recommend this watch for friends.
Good Performer - After set up the watch works great. The only drawbacks are very poor directions as to initial set up and the band cant be changed to another kind. This is a large watch and if you have a small wrist you may want to consider another watch. The band is a one size fits all and leaves a lot of excess band hanging. Yes it has a catch to gather up the extra but it quickly becomes loose and the top of the band will catch on everything. You cant cut it off because the strap has a wider place on the end to keep the catch from sliding off the band. Other than that I like the watch and its functions a lot.
It is a good product with good price overall but the windows got a scratche after several days.
