Tough and rugged enough for any workout regimen or outdoors training, this solar-powered casio G-Shock digital men's watch (model G7301B-3V) is also a great choice for boating enthusiasts. It includes built-in timer for yacht races, which features 1-second measurements, a 60-minute countdown range, and a count up after countdown function. It's solar-powered--charging in either sunlight or indoor light--so you'll never have to deal with changing the battery. Light enters the watch through the sapphire crystal and dial, and hits a solar cell beneath the dial. Current is created and stored in the battery. And it's water resistant to 200 meters (660 feet), which will protect the watch from splashes of sea spray and is suitable for recreational scuba diving.

It also offers a 1/100-second stopwatch with a 100-minute measuring capacity and elapsed time, split time, and 1st/2nd place time modes. Timekeeping features include four independent daily alarms (with one snooze alarm), an optional hourly time signal, year/month/date/day display (with an autocalendar to the year 2039), and a battery power indicator. Other features include a black resin watch case (with gray top ring) and strap, scratch-resistant mineral crystal, and AfterGlow LED electro-luminescent backlight.

Bought this for my son, for two features: solar power and yacht racing timer. Casio watches offer a good value, and each model offers a slightly different combination of features aimed at specific uses. The controls are intuitive for such a full-featured watch.

It was purchased when previous Casio Pathfinder waterproofing failed after an $[...] battery replacement by Casio, but it was beyond Casio warranty, so replacement with this watch was cheaper than repair of the old Pathfinder. Hopefully this watch will last longer, since it is solar powered and should not have to be serviced for a long time. My family is "hard on watches". We have owned several Casio watches and they perform well, and are as durable as any other watches in their price range.


I am extremely pleased with the way this watch has performed for the past few years I have owned it. I bought it at a store a few years ago looking for a durable (tough) watch to wear to the gym and jobsites. I dont really utilize all the functions it does have. I paid a lot more for this watch when I bought it, and still am happy with it. If looking to spend a little more for a g-shock, I might go for one made with titanium to offset the weight.


Didn't meet my needs for repeating countdown timer for my exercise program. I spent more than I usually do for an exercise watch and was very disappointed. I replaced it with a less expensive Casio. I was pleased with Amazon's return procedure. I learned to be more penetrating on tech details for future watch purchases.
