Well, I do body boarding and I wanted a water resistant watch that was not terribly expensive. This is a cost effective timepiece given the functions and design.
The durability of the watch for 200m is good for someone with an active lifestyle in the water. This is a simple watch that has a timer, stopwatch, 3 alarms, and illuminated hands for when you are reading the time in the dark. The light allows for viewing in total darkness but the script can be small for some folks. The moon data is nice to have, but not something that I depend upon.
The band is comfortable and the watch is solid in construction. I do find reading the digital time and date difficult with the hands in the way but it is not a deal breaker. The protective crystal is scratch resistant but not protected by the bezel.
It is a solid choice for a person with an active lifestyle.

I just got mine today and its a nice, simple, elegant,looking watch. This is my third watch I buy in the past 6 years I think and they have all been Casio. I give it 4 stars because it does not come with the instructions on how to adjust the band and it can be frustrating.
STEP ONE: Get a Pushpin
STEP TWO: You will find an arrow pointing out on the removable parts of the band on the inside side.
STEP Three: Put the point of the pushpin on the tiny hole going right from the arrow about 2-3 mm.
Step Four: Inside the tiny hole there will be a dot, move the pushpin point to the opposite direction of the arrow so it falls on the deepest part of the tiny hole.
Step Five: Keeping the point in the deepest part push the dot towards the arrow's direction and a small tiny piece will come out. You may change the angle of the pushpin to make it easier.
Step Six: Repeat this process on another part so you can get the segment you need out.
Step Seven: To put it back together simply connect the two segments together and insert the tiny metal piece that you took out.

Bought this for my son's 9th b-day since he's really too old to be wearing Pokemon and Lego watches any more. The dial/case is pretty large for a kid, but he likes it because it's more manly-looking. The watch seems to keep good time, and has many features that he likes to play with (timer modes, alarms, etc.) We had to remove about 10 links from the bracelet, though; as it came, it was even too big for my husband. But a push pin and a pair of pliers did the trick easily.

I needed a simple watch for travel. I always worry that the wake up call won't come or I set the clock wrong. If I set my watch I sleep much more relaxed.
The description said dual time but I wasn't sure if that meant Analog and digital. It is actually triple time. Analog, digital and a second digital dual time for another time zone. Very nice for $20.

I love everything about this watch-from the design to the features. I probably won't use it to store telephone numbers, but who knows? The alarm feature with snooze is very helpful. The solar power battery is awesome! My only complaint with my old casio was having to change the battery. Slim style makes for a surreptitious look that belies the rugged and durable qualities of this accurate timepiece. Simple to operate, easy to see and comfortable to wear, the retro-styled contemporary watch looks a little different from the usual. The only down-side is the inevitable mineral glass lens that invites scratches. Why Casio do not manufacture a similar watch with a sapphire crystal lens is difficult to understand; this problem extends through their wider range (some Oceanus excepted, in my view. Now, make a solar, titanium version with a sapphire lens and see the sales rocket!!

I just got this watch today. Took 10 days for the free shipping to arrive which is cool. I love the color combination and the square face too. There are things though. First is that the strap/band is way too short. I clasped it at the second to the last hole. I think this watch is great for any women with a very very tiny wrist because the band was too small for my regular sized wrist. I wanted it to look bulky and bigger size but it didn't. It just made it look like a mid sized ordinary watch. Second is that the band is made of resin material, meaning it is a hard plastic and it feels awkwardly wet the minute you perspire as it brushes your skin. I took it out a few times to dry. Third, it's not user friendly when it comes to setting the date and time etc esp for people who don't like reading manuals. 4th, is that the mineral screen is way too light for anyone who has eye problems... I don't have one yet I have to squint and stare at it for awhile to check the time.... I gotta say, it's all about the looks because it does look very gorgeous... I wanted to return it but decided not to. I don't wanna pay the restocking fee... I'll still wear it though but I'll look for another bigger watch soon...

WOW! I received both watches today - I bought both the AW80V-5BV (Brown with velcro wrist band) and the AW80V-7AV (White dial with black rubber? wrist band).
When unpacking them I was not surprised to see the watches looking pretty much like they showed on Amazon.com pictures. When I put each one of them on I was very pleasantly surprised at how much better they even looked when I put them on! Who knows, I have beautiful wrists?!... Seriously, I am very happy with the looks and would've thought they cost more if I've seen someone else wear them.
Talking about pricing this watch is a steal! I say again "all this for only $20?!" That's unbelievable! I am going back to check for other colors! I may be wearing a different watch every day just to match the color of my shirts!
Oh, the analog dial of both models is sooo easy to read! The digital display?... I can read it easily from many feets away!
The light is pretty bright! Who says it is not? I don't see myself using it often though... Who wants a light on their watch? Certainly not me! If I am in the dark, the last thing I want to know about is the time - there are more interesting things to do in the dark :) - unless, of course, I was some kind of a special forces commando, or was in some kind of trouble, etc..
SETUP - It was very easy, simple and logical! (Of course, I'm a genious too, besides having beautiful wrists). Seriously, after I adjusted the first one - it took only a few short minutes - by following the simple instructions in the manual, I did the second one without going to the instructions and, believe me, I am the type that would always prefer to have things done and ready, zero-setup type and it was NOT a pain, even for me.
Well, that's it! I recommend it.
SUMMARY: Excellent timekeeping device with expensive features, great looking watch - looks more expensive than it is!

Casio makes great watches. This is not one of their greatest because the setting instructions are not very helpful and the watch is definitely not user friendly. Where I live, (coastal California) in only synchs up with the atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado about twice a week, unless I hang it in the limbs of a tree in my back yard. When I visited Colorado for a week earlier this year it synched up every day in my hotel room. Had this watch for nearly a year. The multiple alarms are useful and easy to set once you know how. The world time, stopwatch and timer functions have their individual uses. My particular watch runs fast, which can be a bit of a hassle because the hands and the digital display have to be reset independently of each other. The backlight is, unfortunately, useless. It glows an orange-yellow light that is not bright enough to illuminate either the hands or the display. I work evenings and have to shine a light on my watch to read it in the dark. The velcro strap is lightweight and comfortable but can get pretty stinky with age. The plastic "crystal" is slightly convex and accumulates scratches easily. I can't comment on the battery life since I've only had it for under a year. Cosmetically, the watch overall looks pretty nice. For a cheap watch, it does the job OK---i.e., tell the time---but there are probably better choices out there.

I've owned one for a couple years now. I keep a backup and have ordered three more as gifts. Excellent watch (on one I changed the band to a velcro one for day-to-day rough use). Practical, easy to check the time in the dark, neat looking. No problems with it at all.

This is a very cool watch for the $$$ ... I've bought a couple of Casio's thus far and you can't beat them for casual style, battery life, functions and value.
